It’s just last week that the most premium Indian decor symposium got over and this week we share the highlights from India Design ID 2019. Upgrading from tuk-tuk to Mini Cooper is not the only big change that has happened during these years. this symposium has been a barometer, a timeline of sorts for a few brands who have been exhibiting every year since the start. A few have become a permanent fixture while there are always young designers & new brands that make this all worth going for. Let us go through a few of the interesting brands that were there this year, some very well known names while others for the first time, making it worth a dekko.

SHITIJ DOGRA

This Delhi based young architect had put up a collection of furniture & light fixtures that were worthy of an art gallery of sorts. His Newborn series was a visual delight & would easily be the focal point of any room.

TAAMAA.IN

Very few designers have an element of fun when it comes to doing a project, it can come with an art piece or an accessory. This brand had a collection of classic games like ludo, snakes & ladders, top etc that can add the fun element to any decor.

KLOVE

Not that they need any introduction, but just doing that they are good at. Love duo came up with light installation  which was befitting an Egyptian queen palace, almost like talisman’s their booth was an eye candy.

If a chandelier is something that you are looking for, then you got to read our listing here.

ARTE – PRISTINE MARKETING

They make wall & window coverings plus furniture. But what it is their wall coverings that really make them stand out. Their 3 dimensional wall covering range is chic & sophisticated. Also considering that textile coverings are trending this year, If you do have a wall that you want to strike out, I would definitely suggest you to visit them once.

JEWEL CRAFTZ

Another brand that does not needs any introduction at all. They have been there for a long time now, even though it was their first time at the Indian Design ID. From the inlay flooring tiles to their massive rose quartz bath tub (the biggest piece I have ever seen), they had it all. If you want your flooring to be one of it’s kind without compromising the quality then they are the ones to go to.

SIHASN

There are chairs and then there is the upholstery, making the big difference. Sihasn as a brand boosts itself as a collection of upholstery material from all over the country. Promoting the indigenous craft & giving a massive collection to choose from. For their stall they choose the Kashmir’s signature crewel thread work.

ASIAN PAINTS

The title sponsor of the event always come up with the most well thought & planned hall. Trying to come with something different every time, also launching their colour of the year, they are always upto something new every year. And this year as well, their booth was a wonder land. Where they launched their colour of 2019 as Vine Yard 8709. But to be honest, as a designer I always wanted them to have a book or an option of giving a sample that could be given to the clients & finally the day did arrive. This year, they came out with a look book that has cut out options for particular colours. Which is a dream come true. So thank you Asian paints for finally doing the needful. (And yes I do have more feedback to give, if you want me to :D)

In the end, over all there were not many new entrants but the few big ones had taken a bigger space & are now doing complete turnkey projects. With this I believe India Design ID is trying to finally position themselves as a “luxury market” driven symposium. They did a great job & are getting better with each year indeed.
