We have always tried to get you the latest trends in the field of interior design. Continuing with it, there is a trend that has been around for a while. From clothes to jewellery, furniture to blankets. It is going around pretty much everywhere. This week we cover the interior decor trend ’17: tassel & fringe. Although many would argue that they are timeless but like many classic returns, they keep fluctuating. From the dress that Priyanka Chopra wore at the Emmy’s to the colourful tassel bamboo baskets. This 70’s trend is everywhere.

Lamps

You would always find fringes on a lamp shade. Something so classic that it goes back to the victorian age. However, it’s changing the way it has been perceived all this time. With a perfect match of modern material,  fringe lamps are back in action. From DIY portals to high end lamps, they are coming up every where.

Furniture

90’s had an ugly trend of fringed covers for everything. From the TV, to the dinning table. They covered it all. Thank god that is gone for good. With new age colours and luxurious velvet, these single seaters are hot. They almost make you want to turn them around and see those fringes move.

Planters

Lately there is a huge trend of Manipuri baskets all over. This spectacular north eastern state has a lot more than just it’s natural beauty. Out of all their hand crafted products their cane baskets are going everywhere. Recently Indian fashion brand Munkee See Munkee Do used these baskets as their accessories, at the Amazon Fashion Week. Taking a cue from there, you can very well get round ones and add your own tassels to make them look hep.

There are many kind of tassels and fringes to make a modest voil or a chanderi cloth strike out. Specially for children’s room where colours are important but so are the materials.
