1. Music to your ears
Think musical notes and some might just talk about Beethoven or some couplets from 70’s Jazz. But then common guys music has no boundaries, how about putting up the music sheet of a DDLJ song that you sang all day along when you were young, or the music sheet of the song that you sang to propose your wife. Get them all together, even better if you could frame some cassettes of the old ones and voila a personal note like no other.

Tip: Try pianobolywood.com for piano music sheet or karaoke-melodies.com to buy music sheet according to the instrument you desire.

2. Be bold

This wall is perfect for a teenage room as it not only a way to make a statement but also makes that wall a bit more personal. May be a line from your favourite poem or a ACDC song that defines your dark side.

Tip: Be particular about the size of the font in comparison to the size of the wall. You can make it dramatic with the right font or size. If painting it is not something your parents may allow, then get the vinyl cutouts.

3. Lay the plates

My mother has always had a collection or two of a crockery that was never used. I wasn’t sure if it was because of her love for the set or just cause she loves to hoard things. If only I could I would actually want to use a few of them and lay them on the wall. Even if some might be cracked it’s fine, just make it all look like a classic china collection and you will have an art piece with a story of its own.

Tip: Would look great on a wall around the dinning area or a wall in the kitchen. There are enough tutorials online on how you could hand then on a wall online.

4. Go green

This can not only make you a pseudo-environmentalist but also would help in increasing your awareness about the flora around you. Pick up clean leaves and dry them out by putting them in middle of a dictionary or any other big book that is hardly ever used. In fact get your children to be a part of this and along the way get a lesson for life about those particular plants and their habitat.

Tip: You can always put up flowers as well or arrange them all in a single big frame.

5. Fabric story:

While our PM Mr. Modi is going all big on hand loom fabrics from Varanasi, let’s just not limit it to fashion. While ikat has been trending for long, many big international home decor stores have been sourcing a lot of indigo tie n die cloth and getting them framed. Close home, how bout using different hand loom saari or a piece of clothing from your heirloom and putting it up as a medallion to show our rich heritage.

Tip: Try to match it according to the interior of your house. If it’s more wood and ethnic, look for zari work or brocade otherwise for a contemporary house look for other subtle options like tie n die.

I hope you will try atleast one of these options to make your typical walls come alive. Do let us know in case you may have any ideas of your own. We will love to put them up on your Facebook page and for more inspiration do follow us on our Instagram account.
